Meet Carol Clinton
Co-Director, Bully Police Washington

Carol went on her local television station exactly five years after her daughter’s suicide.  She wanted to remind everyone not to forget April and why she died.  She also appeared on The Montel Show.

Carol’s life is her family.  She enjoys being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren and her children.  Because of her bi-polar disorder and the trauma of losing April, Carol is on disability.

Carol is at her best working one-on-one and enjoys personal consultations in email or on the phone. She will work locally, (Tri-Cities Washington), with Hospitals, Mental Institutions, or small gatherings in individual homes.   Carol's Associate's Degree in Corrections, as well as her own battle to keep her depression at bay, helps her understand the nature of people and what they are experiencing in their life.
Carol is available for limited speaking engagements on the subject of depression
and surviving the suicide of a child.  She would also welcome media interviews.
Her phone number is 509-946-5238 and her email address is carol (at) aprilhimes (dot) com
and her memorial website is www.AprilHimes.com.

What It Feels Like
April’s Story - “8 Months to Bullycide”
April Himes -  4/27/86 – 2/14/00

“Bullies WILL cause depression and depression is the
number one cause of suicide.  The signs are there – be aware!”
April's mom, Carol Clinton

I called April out of her room and told her what I was told. She yelled, "I can't believe you called the school." She went back in her room and slammed the door.  After about ten minutes she...asked me to repeat what the vice principal had said.  I again repeated what I was told. She was crying...and yelled, "I hate you."
Those are the last words I heard from her.

The Pain of Depression - What It Feels Like
A person that takes his/her life by suicide is not thinking of themselves or anyone else. A depressed and suicidal person is not thinking - the brain is not functioning well enough to have any real thoughts. There are only feelings. It's all about emotions. You feel sad, upset, unloved, disparity, hopeless, helpless, alone, gloomy, weighted down and rejection.
